Marisa Abel
Photographer
Fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish. I am a professional photographer since 2002, when I graduated in Journalism at PUC-Campinas where Nelson Chinalia acted as my mentor on photography. At Unicamp Art Institute I studied “Digital Photography” under guidance of my teacher Marcelo Costa Souza. In São Paulo I took several photography classes at Techimage, including nude, outdoor, still, products, fashion, photojournalism, events and photoshop. I also am post-graduated in Brazilian Cinema at Unicamp University where I took the following courses: “Communication, Culture and Society” this one with focus in Marketing and “Brazilian Cinema, development and production”. Additionally, I completed the following courses: “Production of Fashion” at the Fashion School Brazil; “Film Screenplay” and “Production and Set Footage” at Escola São Paulo, “TV Journalism” at the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL) and “Alternative Video” at the University of Brasilia (UNB).
Over a period of 10 years, I was the lead-journalist in charge for several Brazilian customized magazines, especially with target audience of the fashion industry, sports, health and entertainment. For seven years I was devoted to “Profashional Publisher Magazine", a company for which I produced more than 50 fashion editorials and prepared and oversaw various artistic events. In the US I work as a professional photographer for more than 5 years. Also I am writing for Brazilian Times Newspaper and Alô Você Magazine. During my career, I earned 11 awards out of which 1 was for “The Best Photographer”
